To my knowledge, my dad (Douglas Dancey), was the first Dancey born in Ottawa. He had many relatives in the States but I never knew any of them. My mother did write them . When I was young there were only two Danceys in the Ottawa phone book, now there are several.
Dad had been High Church of England until he met my mother and turned to the Catholic faith. Most of his sisters did also.
My dad had an uncle, James, that I dearly loved when I was a kid. He chewed tobacco, and even in summer, wore one of those pilot type hats with ear flaps.
