I donīt know if my contribution to your page is gonna be too great, but my last name is Danesi.

I believe my great-grandfather came from Lucca, Italy around 1880. He came to Buenos Aires, the Capital City of Argentina. His name was Mariano Danesi and he married an Argentine woman whose surname was Rosas. She was from Mendoza (a province near the Andes) and I think they lived there for a while.

They had two boys. Mariano Domingo Gines Danesi, born in 1896. He became an actor, mainly worked in theatre but he also shot some movies in the 30s. He didnīt have any children.

The other son, Angel Felix Danesi was born in march 1898 and he was my grandfather. He was a musician, played the bandoneon in many tango orchestras since he was 16 and in the 20s he formed his own orchestra. He wrote many tangos, one of them recorded by Carlos Gardel called "Mamita". There are recordings of these and some other of his compositions. Someday Iīm going to send you some pictures and newspaper clippings if its useful for you.

He had a son, Angel Mario, who is my father. He was going to be a musician too, he plays the piano, but finally he became a lawyer.

I'm his only child, so the surname ended here, 'cos I'm a lady and my daughter has my husbandīs last name, but there are many "Danesi" listed in the phone book, I really donīt know if we are somehow related. We donīt have (and never had) any contact with any of them. I worked many years as a radio producer and now Iīm a secretary.
